drop down brackets for 2002 F150 FX4 front axles
Hi everybody, I was just curious if anybody new where i could get drop down brackets for my 2002 f150 for the front axles. I put a torsion key and block lift in on my truck 3'', but 2 days later I ended up replacing my front axles because they both blew out. can anybody help me out with this so I dont have to buy a new lift
Sounds like you used aftermarket keys since you said you got 3" of lift. There's your problem right there. Only option you really have there is go back to the stock keys and crank those up, it'll keep you within spec for angles, or since you've already installed those aftermarket ones crank them back down some, about an inch, to get the angles closer to where they should be.
The factory keys allow you to level the truck, which is about as far as it should go before stuff starts falling apart, those aftermarket ones allow you to go way too far.

Simple answer would be because they know people wont do there research first and buy them. More people would rather buy the cheapest lift they first see over taking a few hours to read up on them, basic marketing.
There's nothing on the front end you can really replace to make them hold up to the angles those keys will put you at.
So now you have your options, either put the stock keys back in and crank those up, and throw away those horrible keys (or do the less decent thing and try to sell them to someone else) or crank those ones you have now back down to factory level, then back up to 1.5-2" max. And get yourself another alignment when it's all said and done.

Thanks pizzaman711 i appreciate all the help. Now whats the best options i have to get my truck lifted so i can fit my 35" tires on. I have a 3in body lift sitting in the garage brand new but i really dont have the time or no how to do it. Any good ideas out there??
Body lift would be the easiest since you already have it. The directions that come with it are pretty straight forward.

Body lift since you have it like buxton said, plus cranking the factory torsion bars. Should have no problem clearing 35's depending on the wheels you have and how wide the tire is. Only other options left would be to do a full suspension lift.
You can stuff 35's in there on the factory wheels depending how aggressive the tire is and no wider than a 12.50" tire with just cranking the factory keys. But you'll have to do some trimming on the bottom corner of the valence and possibly the inner fender, and it might rub while turning at full lock.

Why are you so dead set on stuffing 35's in there? 33's will "fit" the truck much better (especially with your lift), look great, and not rob near as much power/driveability. Yes, 2" diameter is a significant difference on gearing; negatively.
Bigger question is why would you have a body lift if you arent gonna put it on!....Put that on and crank the bars and youll clear 35's no prob...galaxy is right though...it will kill your mpgs and power unless you regear..
