Talking 2wd Lift and Locker

Hey, Im new to the forum so sorry if there was already a thread about this. I have an '06 f150 xl supercab 4x2, and I know a lot of people think its pointless to lift a 2wd truck, but I can get around just fine on the logging roads with 2wd. Would you go with a 6" fabtech or 6" fts lift? Would there be any point to putting double shocks in the front? Should I get a 2.5" leveling kit on top of that? Also, how would the handling on the road be if I locked up the rear? I haven't added anything new to the truck and want to start by making it a little more off road capable.

I would go fabtech. The FTS Basic kit is $2k and doesn't even come with the rear shocks, and $4k if you want the stage 2 and that doesn't even come with the rear shocks.

Go with the Fabtech. Get steering stabilizers while you're at it. Fabtech recommends 35" tires on aftermarket wheels (specs provided with lift kit installation instructions).

If you get the kit with adjustable coilovers, then you can crank it a little higher.

Set on those 2 lifts? Just to offer a different option. I just had a 6" Skyjacker installed on my 2wd. Love it!

Got the fabtech installed on mine. Only seen pictures so far because I'm out of the country for a while. Mom says it looks badass in person though lol. I too have thought about getting a locker for my 2wd. I plan on going to 4.56 gear in the rear anyway, might as well get a locker installed as well.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'll eventually go with a fabtech within the next year or so. Steering stabilizers when I don't have sas? Also, one of my buddies offered to weld the rear for me so I wouldn't need a locker good or bad idea? Kind of stuck on if I should go for it or not.

Horrible idea to weld the rear on a daily driver.
