Talking Custom 4x4 mid travel coil over build

OK so after 5 month of planning, sketching, calculating and designing my 2.5 Fox and Eibach coil overs are now ready to be put in motion. During the next 3 weeks my truck will change from a torsion bar to off road coil over suspension. I am also moving up to 35" BFG KM2 tires and raising the truck 2 or 3more inches, it will now set at 7" And I'm putting on custom camburg uniball upper control arms and hope to pull 11 to 12 inches of travel... So TELL EVERYBODY ABOUT THIS, it's never been done before!
And I have another little surprise to put on the truck to... but you will have to wait.
All work done by drivelines off road center

Here is a pick of one of the coils

So subscribe I'll keep you updated with pic's every other day especially starting Monday.

I'm so EXCITED!!!!!!

I have a feeling your gonna have trouble doing any form of alignment and pulling clean travel without either different spindles, or lower control arms, or both. Your off to a great start but your missing some important things needed to pull those kind of numbers.

I actually doubt that at 7" you'll even be able to get the control arms to reach down to the top of the spindle to bolt it back together, and if you do I think it'll be resting on the spring.

Before you start hacking stuff off to do this you should post your ideas over on dezertrangers and allow the experts to have a look at sketches and ideas.

good point but hopefully the camburg arms will reach just fine. and if it doesn't we will lower it a little... plus the shock mounts have already been cut off

Your gonna have to lower them then. They're made for like 3-4".

Well my lift was originally a 6" and I cranked the torsion bars down 2" so when I raise it to 6" or 7" it will be correct... don't worry it's all planed out.

So you had 6" of lift with no crossmember drop for the original arms?

Take a look at the Dixon bros long travel kit. It pulls the same numbers your trying to achieve so maybe it'll help and give you ideas. I'm assuming your not gonna run bigger than a 35" tire?

no what I said was I put 6" crossmembers and cranked the torsion bars down to make a 4".

And I have looked at that and it pulls 15" of travel, and you need fiberglass fenders and 37". Also there is no sway bar on it. I'm just trying to build a medium travel that can still be my daily driver...

So your keeping the crossmember? And that kit is definitely daily driveable.

Update!

OK so...
Went by drivelines to check on my baby... and here is what I saw

The bump stops and shock bracket cut of by plasma cutter

it cut off

And then frame cut

This cut in half... will go inside the frame to support and cradle the coil... the coil will sit at a 25 to 30 degree angle ...

[OK so the rod end was to big that came with it so I had to get a smaller one that was the right size but the one I got was to short so Jeff made a solid extension piece and threaded it to fit on the rod end. Here are the pics.
