Went to see my truck today they are shaving the lower arm to get ready to powder coat and put everything on and set it on the ground to see were everything is going be and make sure everything is sitting right... we have to move the diff and front drive lines forward to clear the strut lower rod so we cut into the frame and got some different brackets and going to weld the new ones in soon.

this picture doesn't give me much confidence the way you talk about hard landings like you plan on jumping this. that ball joint will sheer. no way will it hold up if thats the angle you're looking at when you're fully drooped or close to it. fix this please before you snap that in half and your spindle and wheel flop around.

Thank you for your concern I understand were your coming from, but first for the hard landings we will be welding in a bump stop, so that will stop all the weight from coming down on the strut. And there's more angle in the strut then you think, the picture is deceiving. I'll get a better pic of the angle Monday and post it up...

There's more angle? I think you meant less angle, you want the arms as parallel to the ground as possible.

Why didn't you run the resivoir line over the arm? In the picture it looks like its going in between the arm and the coil.

And it's hard to tell but is the coilover double sheared where it mounts to the lower control arm?

Ya the control arm when sitting on the ground Is almost parallel, I was referring to the strut it self... the coilover is sitting at 25° to 30° angle. And the reservoir is just sitting up there we haven't decided were it's going to mount...
does that help?

OK so I got a better shot of the angle of the strut. The shock is not even at full droop yet I have maybe another 2" to 3" of travel before full droop, and when it's sitting on the ground the control arms will be almost parallel to the ground. The control arm is currently resting on a jack

Cool build, your a brave man for messing with ttb on these trucks when I look at mine my head hurts

Any reason for that kind of "coil bucket" over just using a shock hoop?

^I was just about to ask that.

will the hole where the torsion bar get filled in or will it just be left open?

Thanks. And Jeff the lead designer decided to make the "coil bucket" because it would be stronger than a hoop and we are building a cross member to go on the strut mounts and across the engine so they don't collapse on a hard landing, so it's kind of indestructible

It will be left open... so in case something goes catastrophic and I have to use them again

I'm not sure it's "idestructable", a lot of pre-runners use a hoop instead of a pocket, with a crossmember of course, but it looks like it should hold up okay.

I would use this term very lightly..

and that angle still gives me no confidence. I'm going to wait until you break it to say I told you so but really, there's no absolute way you will jump this truck without those upper arms being completely destroyed. I know because I've done it. I'm not saying it to bash you I'm saying it because you yourself are calling it indestructible. I have jumped my truck hit some seriously gnarly terrain at some fast speeds that I never thought I could, but I all the while I know my limits. I like this idea, its actually really cool. But please, do it right and make a new upper arm. you'll thank me later.
