Cool Best type of lift for a 92

Hey y'all, my friend is looking at a 92 F150 V8. He wants to put 33x12.50 muds on 15x10 wheels. So i figure a 4" lift should be good to clear those. Whats the best type of lift and is there anything he should watch out for and the such. Also would it be better to order the lift and get a shop to install it, or just get it all done at one place? Can anyone mention any good places to order from?
Thanks
Jordan

My '92 f-150 is running 35x12.5x15 swampers with a slight bumper trim. I installed a 4" superlift. I did it myself, it was pretty easy and turned out great.

I would suggest the Skyjacker 6" Class II lift. You would have some more room for flex and shouldn't have to trim as much. Also with the Class II lift you get the longer raduis arms for a little more articulation. I can speak from 1st hand experience it is a VERY good lift and if I end up selling my 97 for my dads 91 it will get the Skyjacker.

A 4" lift will clear 33's no prob. Whataver lift you decide to get, don't get brackets. Make sure you get new extended radius arms, they are more durable and you will be surprised as to how much more travel you get.
I would say install yourself, but if you are going to have a shop do it, then have the same shop install it and hopefully they will give you a deal.
