AutoSpring 2" Leveling kit

Well my autospring 2" leveling kit came in last night. Yesterday morning I went out and sprayed all the fasteners with PB and just now did it again to fight the rust going on in there..

So ive heard mixed opinions about these kits when it comes to ball joint wear. Some people complain about them wearing out early and some have had no problems at all. Mine are 54k miles and 8 years old and still in good shape. Should I change them now or hold off?

If their fine no reason to change them, or you can change them now so you don't have to worry about them going bad any time soon. It's your decision.

If you have the funds and time, go ahead and change them. Half of the work of replacing ball joints is part of installing the AS spacer. The new BJ's should have grease fittings, so you will not have to worry with them for a long while, other than greasing them.

Thanks guys.

Well i went ahead and installed the kit. Took about 3 hours. Took a while to break free the lower control arm nut and bolt. Eventually I won the fight. Soaking everything in PB ahead of time really helped.

Only thing that bothers me about the install was i noticed at full extension of the strut the upper spindle where the upper ball joint is lightly touches the coil. I dont jump my truck so im not too worried about it but it was very noticable.

Pics on the way

Would I need spindles for a real suspension lift? Guess I need to do some research...

There are no such thing as "lift spindles" for the 04+ trucks like the 03 and older trucks.

your only option is a full lift if you want better angles, that's at full droop so don't worry about it.
