Control arm and spindle problems?

I just accquired a 2000 f150 2wd with a 8inch prerunner lift and a broken spindle. Ever majorly company I have looked at that offers an 8 inch lift spindle is slightly different. Mainly where the lower control arm mounts. If anyone can give me any info on aftermarket control arms amd spindles I'd appreciate it

What kind of pre-runner lift? Is it the fabtech kit, or an actual long travel kit?

No company makes an 8" spindle.. and the only lift I can think of that is close to 8" for a 97-03 4x2 is the fabtech 7.5 or the fabtech long travel kit. Otherwise it'd have to be a custom long travel kit.

Pictures of the suspension would definitely help.

Do you just need a new spindle or control arm too?

Well I'm not sure I am trying the fabtech 7.5 but the problem I'm up against is the lower control arm ball joint is 3 I Che's lower on the fabch ones so if I use them I'll have major camber issues is there any way I can email pics?

Upload them to photobucket or another website like that and then post them here. I'm not sure what your trying to say, the fabtech long travel kit uses the same spindle as the fabtech 7.5" which provides 3.5" of lift but won't change anything to do with the alignment. The only real difference between the two is the fabtech long travel kit has longer lower control arms to push the tires out 3" per side and allows for more wheel travel.

It looks to be the fabtech long travel kit, not the 7.5 kit. Which I think is out of production so you'll have to drop an email to them and see what they say about the spindle. To be really certain you could try to chip through all that paint on there and if you hit blue it's fabtech.

Like pizzaman said, looks to be fabtech. However those are definitely not fabtech spindles. looks like a custom job.

Also, what's broke on the spindle? Just looks like the caliper mounts, which those can just be unbolted.

Your gonna have to buy a set of fabtech spindles unless you have the skill to build your own or are going to get a shop to do it and replace them on both sides. Those are the only "off the shelf" spindles that'll work with the rest of that.

On a side note, If you don't want it to happen again DON'T use your truck as a prerunner, that isn't a true long travel kit built for the abuse.

I don't plan on beating on this truck I littereally just got it. I traded a Vw bug for it. The I ly issue ive had is the mounting spot for the lower control arm ball joint is in a different spot on the two spindles.

Is it two different spindles on the truck?

They are both the same. But both broken in different spots.

So if they're the same then how is the lower ball joint mount on them different?

Either way just replace them both with the fabtech spindles and call it a day since they're both broke.
