Leveling kit = torn cv boot?
One of my friends installed a 2.5 inch front leveling kit on his 06 f150. I don't know the specific brand but it is just a round spacer that goes on top of the strut assembly. After a month he had a torn cv boot in the front. Is this a common occurrance? I wanted to do mine but not if the boots are going to tear or the cv joints prematurely fail. Any thought or opinions?
it wouldn't tear within a month due to a 2.5" leveling kit. The angle of the CV's aren't severe, there is an outside source that caused it or it was a pre-existing condition.
There are hundreds of members just on this forum alone running 2.5" leveling kits who have put thousands of miles on their trucks w/ no issues.

the factory can tear after a leveling kit...installed a 2 inch leveling kit on my 05 FX4...within a week...driver side boot ripped...a month later...passanger side ripped..so 2 new half shafts from autozone and 10,000 miles later...no problems...I'm guessing the factory boots were probably a bit dry rotted and didn't like the new angle...half shafts weren't to bad to change...and they came with a nice warranty...
