97 4x4 front suspension question

I have a 97 4x4 150; And prior to me buying it, it was wrecked, and the whole pass side front suspension was rebuilt. When i did brakes on it, we found out the pass side required expedition style rotors, pads, caliper etc. And the drivers side was still the original 150 parts. Now my question is, i am replacing a front wheel hub, and want to convert the front pass side back to the 150 equipment. I have to do front brakes (again) since the hub going out ate them up. Now, is it the hub assembly itself responsible for the differences between the 150 and Expy? Or is it another part(s). I know both parts have different part number via Rock Auto.

On a side note, i've read expy's supposedly have better braking capabilities, so would converting the 150 side (which is the side with the bad hub, and bad rotor/pads) be worth converting to the expy style to run their rotors/pads? To match the pass side (less money too i think overall) Or is this all a myth?

Thanks in advance. And if this needs to be in the Wheels, Tires and Brakes section, feel free to move it.
