Questions about Shocks

Hey everyone. I'm looking at getting new shocks for my 05 stx. That being said, I was browsing a few different brands of shocks today online and saw that they come in different lengths for extended and compressed. How do I know which length I need? Also, I have a 2.5" leveling kit. Will that make a difference in the length? I'm not looking for the shocks to provide any more lift to my truck. I know of most, if not all of the brands but I was wondering in yalls opinion which ones are the best? Thanks.

just buy shocks for a stock truck. you don't need to know lengths.

i am a huge fan of bilsteins

for a little cheaper price KYB gas adjust. I installed them on my superduty and thought they road similar to the bilsteins (firm)

So an inch or two difference in lengths won't matter? They make bilsteins that aren't adjustable don't they? I'm assuming they do but I always see people on here talking about using them in place of leveling kits. Thanks for the help!
