wanting 4" lift on 04 fx4

I have 115k on my f150 4x4. I need new shocks and would like to take this opportunity to add 4" of lift.

So my question to you is.... Can I get 4" of lift without spending more than $500?

If so, I would like to hear how or where to get the parts.

Thanks

Jason

You could do a 3" body lift. But if you need someone else to install it, you're easily going to go over that price.

That's the cheapest 4" suspension lift on the market that I'm aware of. If you get a 3" body lift and do the install yourself, you can be under $500. There's no way to get a suspension lift for $500 unless you buy a used one or something

But for $100 more you can get a 6" lift because a 4" and 6" have all the same parts except the 6" parts are a little bigger

Body lifts are easy, you're just installing spacers underneath the cab and bed to raise it up... Not recommended for off-roading, but ok for mall crawling

It's not difficult, just time consuming. Read through these directions and see if it sounds easy enough for you to do.

You don't "need" them with a 3" but it looks better to have them with 2" or 3". You don't have to buy them. I made my own out of an old trash can

Don't get a 2". It won't come with bumper relocation brackets and you'll have 2" gaps up front and in the back in between the bumper and body. Just go 3".
