86 f150 SAS Coil towers
86 f150 SAS Coil towers
I'm new to this forum and i have an 86 that i'm puttin a dana 44 in the front, i have everything i need but i was wondering if anyone swapped out their coil towers to the 79 ones and lowered them for more lift or even the stock ones
this is from just what i read no hands on YEt, but the stock coil buckets wont work because they put a bow in the springs, You can fix this by shimming them but most people us the 79 coil buckets or the superduty coil buckets. But yes you can raise and lower them for more/less lift.
Well you can use the stock ones because my friend did it to his using the 9" coils and his came out fine. thats what i was originally going to do but i may just want to lower my coil towers and probly just use the 79 ones. But thanks for the reply
well if you knew the answer why ask, yes you can use the stock ones yes they will make the springs bow ( ) < like that unless you shim them
Thanks everyone because i wanted to hear what other people did and not ****y that don't know. And when moving the towers forward and down, where did you measure from. The towers i have have a lip that seem like they sit up against and bolt to the bottom of the frame, did you measure down 3 inches from there, and will everything else i have work still suck as my radius arm drop brackets and all other then i'm pretty sure i'll just have to fab up the bracket for my trac bar
