Need Help (Spindle issues)

I recently bought a 2000 Ford 150xlt 2WD, 6inch fabtech lift, 3 inch body lift.
Driving it, all of a sudden my alignment was off, and my ABS brake light came on. i parked and noticed by hub cap was off and it didnt look good. I guess my spindle broke now im looking into a $1400 fix. new brake, pads, roter, and spindle.

(picture below is what broke.)

(Here is the front view.)

I just want anybodys opinon on what to do, Really wouldnt want to spend that kinda of money, but it happens. Thanks for reading, hope it helps, if not feel free to ask me questions!

Looks like the wheel bearings got used up alot. Spindle didn't break though, but it might be toast now? Is the spindle all blued like? Might just need hub / rotor / caliper / ABS ring / .... and yeah, might as well get the spindle too. I'ld look at a salvage yaerd and see if I could get the parts as a group and maybe install new bearings when doing the swap?

If the spindle would've broke I think the tire would of went flying off. Looks like failed bearings to me. If there is an issue with the spindle itself, don't get junkyard parts. That's a fabtech spindle and you'll need to get a new one from them, but i highly doubt it failed.

Tbear853 -
my machanic pretty much said that, the spindle got burned up, wish I didnt need a new one. But hes replacing all that stuff , bearings, hub, spindle, rotor, pad, brake, caliper, and ABS ring. Gotta call tomorrow to see if thats what hes doing. New bearings is a must through!

Buxton91-
i guess when the bearings broke it burned, did something to the spindle, sucks. But it was held on by the lock on the tire i think. And does it matter that it needs to be a fabtech spindle? I didnt even know!

If it's a fabtech spindle on there then yes you need a fabtech spindle to replace with, otherwise the upper control arm won't bolt in correctly. Not only that but they add 3.5" of lift so if you throw an oem replacement on there your gonna be riding lopsided.

when the bearings aren't maintained properly they can dry out and seize up. Then they will weld themselves to the spindle under the heat and pressure of the vehicle.

You should disassemble and check the drivers side as well. If they didnt grease the bearings enough when they put on the lift the drivers side could be about to fail too.

Patman - yes, I diffenetly am going to check the other side. Are you able to check yourself? So I can save myself a machanic stop?

If it ends up with a oem spindle on one side and lift one on the other, the only fix would be to call fabtech and hope they'll sell you an individual spindle or put an oem on the other undamaged side and lower it down. If you have more than 5" of lift then theres a very high chance you have lift spindles.

oem = factory parts.

You have to order a new spindle from fabtech if yours is damaged.

Yup your gonna have to call up fabtech and order a new one because you can't buy them individually online.

Okay, ill make a call. Thanks you guys.
Now can you grease up the bearings yourself? Would I only do it the left side? Or all sides?

He only needs one spindle, not a whole kit. And I doubt he'd split that considering it would make a real pain to sell haha.

Yeahh noo lol no kit, just one spindle. Having hard enough trouble selling a go kart. I think a kit, exspecially where I live would not be possible lol
