shock opinions?

I have a 95 f150 that I use as strictly a ranch vehicle and it has the original shocks on it and its time for new ones. THe ranch roads are caliche roads wiich is like a real rough rocky limestone. Do yall have any suggestions on what shocks would be good for this rough stuff without emptying my wallett?

If you're buying shocks on a budget, set a budget first, then ask "what can I get for $XX per shock?". You're gonna get tons of recommendations for Bilstein, but they're not cheap. Shock quality/performance actually is relative to price unfortunately. There's not too many out there where you're just paying for a name.

But for not emptying the wallet, look to Rancho 5000's, or Explorer 3000 and 9000.

Best value imo, is Monroe Gas-Magnums. Last a long time and get all 4 for cheap. All 4 of mine were a around $110.
Good luck, Rich

My choice would be Bilstein. Have them on my Expd, and G. Also put them on my father's Explorer, and my 98 F150.Slightly less expensive, with slightly stiffer ride are the Rancho RS5000s. Put a set on my 86.5 Nissan 4X4 at 60K miles solid with 240K and shocks were still as tight as new.

The 5100s are made for lifted trucks only, as far as I know they don't come in stock lengths however they're essentially the same shocks as the bilstein hd's. And they're great shocks, they definitely are worth the price if you can afford them, they ride on the stiffer side but handle offroad conditions very well.
