need some pics and help deciding on lift?

so im not sure what i want to do for a lift.. i want the truck to be completely level and i want to do a block in the rear but what size?? i have a 2008 fx4. im going to put a 3" level in the front and blocks in the rear. but what size blocks to stay level and be lifted??? 3"? 2.5"? so if someone has some pictures of a 3" level and some blocks in the rear that would help a ton.. thanks everyone!!

Guess Ill go first, 3 inch levelers will destroy your cv joints. The angles will be too severe. 2.5 is the most you want to go.

If it were me I would measure the body line behind the front wheel and in front of the rear wheel. Add 2.5 to the front measurement and use the difference to determine the amount of lift for the rear. Some people measure the distance from the top of the tire to the fender but the front fender has a higher arc than the rear. The 2008 dont have as much factory rake as the earlier years, you might be able to look into an add a leaf for the rear instead of a block. just my .02

X2 on not getting 3" spacers up front. Don't do it. Jughed is right about measuring the bottom of your body just behind your front tires and just in front of the rear tires to find out if you need a 2" or 2.5" spacer to be level

Lets say your front body line is 1.5 inches lower than your rear. If you add a 2.5 up front you will need to raise the rear 1 inch. This is where you will have to decide if you want to add a leaf that will give you 1 - 1.5 inches in the rear to sit level or slight rake, or a block to add the height you need.

I sit level with the Bilsteins and nothing done to the rear, but 04s had a lot more factory rake than the 08s. Every truck is a little different. The 2.5 spacers are barely 2 inches thick, a great deal of the lift comes from the geometry of the front end(thats why i recommend the shocks) so what makes yours look level might make a truck of the same year look bulldog.

There are some pics in my album of my suspension with .5 spacers and the Bilstein 5100s. If your gunna tear into the front end and might be doing shocks soon anyway get the rancho quicklifts or the Bilsteins you will be happy. Then decide how much higher you want to go in the rear as that is the easiest part to do.

ok thanks for the help and pics. that is quiet a difference in full frop with the new shocks. i was looking at some rancho front shocks. now i see in your pic that your truck seems to sit perfectly level with the 2.5 spacer. if you were to add a 3" block is there anyway to get the front level again? the main reason i ask is because i want a small lift with 33's. i like the looks of a truck with no rake. again thanks for all your help

The tires I am running now are close to 34". If you put a 2.5 level kit the most you will need to lift the rear is 1 to 1.5 inches and you will sit level. If you lift the front 2.5 and the rear 3 you will have more rake than you have now. You cant safely lift the front more than 2.5 without going full suspension or a body lift.

Heres my 06 i had with 3" level and nothing in the rear. I lifted the rear later with a long add a leaf, which i wanted to a little more stiffness in the bed to haul stuff. these trucks are to squishy to me. I just paid to have mine done and thats what they installed, i ran it like that for probably 60k miles and had zero issues. However the angles are sharper then a 2. or 2.5 inch. With that said its kind of a risk either way you go, it just goes up the bigger leveling kit. Id say a 3" block for the rear would be sufficient after your leveling kit if you want to keep just a little rake.
