Need help finding best way to lift

06 XLT 4WD

Being up and down with jobs at the moment it's hard for me to spend a lot of money. I'm wanting to fit 35s without try the leveling + trimming/cutting option being as I do still want to go mudding/offroading without the fear of ripping stuff apart.

As of now I have had my eye on a Rough Country 6" lift as being my cheapest option.

I then came across the Performance Accessories 5.5" lift which is basically a 2.5 inch leveling kit + 3" body lift as you all know.

I have nothing against going that route as that kit is ~600 dollars and me and my mechanic can do it ourselves in his shop for very little cost to me.

One of my concerns is reliability and quality. I will only spend my money if I know it's not a cheap product and won't hinder me "being hard on the truck". Know what I mean?

Just curious if the "cheaper" route here has any negative side effects. I'm just curious about it all before I start dropping money.

Either way is fine. If you have the money go suspension, if not the PA route would be fine. check to see how much the body lift is alone, you can buy a leveling kit for about $70 shipped of ebay.

the rc 6 is the way to go. unless your not doing any serious offroading then get the bl with the leveling if its cheaper. since you say you do some off roading then do the rc 6. And you say its cheaper?

I think he meant cheapest for all suspension wise. No 6" suspension especially for a 4x4 is going to be under a grand unless your buying used.

Either way you go won't be bad. Even though the price is cheap on the RC, it's still a pretty good quality kit. On the other hand P.A. makes great products and the body lift will maintain more of your stock feel driving wise.

One of the mechanics I work with is a good friend of mine and jumped on the idea of installing. I'm going to get the RC 6. There is no labor charge for installing.

1000 or so for tires and ~1400 for the kit. Sounds sweet.
