2010 quicklift loaded labor quote
Hi fellas,
I just made an appointment to get the quicklift loaded AND rear shocks put into my 2010 screw. I was quoted 2.5 hours to do the job. Just wanted to ask you guys if that sounds reasonable considering the fact that the unit comes pre assembled and they won't have use the spring compressor etc?
I realize it wouldn't be all that tough to do on my own but I'll admit I'm an amateur and I probably lack the necessary tools at this point....not to mention the weather is getting increasingly frigid by the day around here.
Secondly, what are you guys running for shock settings front and rear?
Opinions would be appreciated!

Actually they want to charge me an extra 100 bucks or so on top of the labor for alignment which is why I'm thinking it sounds pretty steep
what's the break down on prices for everything including a total?
i'd say 2.5 hours is what it'd take me to install a leveling kit with basic tools, i'd expect a shop with a lift and pneumatic tools to be a little quicker just swapping them out.

Sounds reasonable to me, especially if you can't do the install yourself. Too bad as this install is not tough especially with all the videos on YouTube showing this very thing.
But hell, its only money! You'll be happy once it's all done plus you won't get dirty!
Good luck and post pics.

Thanks guys it looks like I'll just have to suck it up and pay for this one. It hurts a little when you see the youtube video and realize a toddler could probably do it haha.
As for the shock settings, I'm well aware that they affect the ride. I was curious what you fellas have had good results with? Pretty subjective I do realize. Anyhoo, I'm off to the shop.
Thanks for the input.....I'll post a review tonight!

Update: After a 5 minute conversation with the service manager at my shop about how I wanted to swap out my levelling kit for the new shock/spring setup in an effort to lift the truck properly, they installed the quicklift AND the 2 inch AS level I had on there previously. UNBELIEVABLE!!!
Anyhow, the Ranchos feel much nicer than the stockers did already even though the front end is way up in the air and the suspension geometry is obviously way out of whack with the roughly 4 inches of lift it has now.
Back to shop on monday morning and an actual review of the Ranchos to follow.

Did you want them to put the leveling kit on top of it, or did they misuderstand you and install both? The cv axles on your truck are probably almost vertical, make sure you get some pics of the suspension with both on.
I wanted them to swap out the level for the quicklift and (with great difficulty) they literally installed both on the truck. I'll try and get a pic tomorrow for you guys. The surprising thing is that the truck still rides better than it did with just the level and stock shocks. That being said it doesn't feel exactly right and I'm scared I'm going to break something with all the suspension components tweaked at extreme angles. There is almost no room whatsoever between the control arm and springs for instance.
Incredibly annoying but at least it will be sorted out shortly.

So unfortunately I wasn't able to get pics of the ridiculous level/quicklift combo install but I do finally have the suspension sorted out.
I think the front of the truck now sits a TINY bit lower than it did with an AS 2 inch level. I think it looks pretty much perfect with my 34 inch trail graps and the slightest amount of rake.
As for the ride with the new Ranchos, I think it's great so far. With the level, stock shocks and heavy/stiff trail graps the littlest bumps in the road would jar the entire truck and send harsh vibrations throughout the cab. Now the same bumps are not felt at all or they send a very mild vibration or controlled 'jiggle' into the cab. Once in a while with the level if I were veer off the road into a steep driveway or over a curb I'd hear a distinct popping noise which I assume was the control arm hitting the spring. This is no longer an issue at all as there's roughly an inch between the two when the truck is parked. It's hard to explain but it's nice to actually feel the suspension working when driving over bigger and sharper obstacles too. Overall the the ranchos seem to do a way better job damping a truck with heavy, stiff off road tires. I'd say the new set up feels better than it did when my truck was bone stock with the pirelli mini van tires. I have my settings at 3 front, 2 rear FWIW. I prefer the plush ride as the roads are pretty bad where I live and I have secondary ride with coilovers, adjustable sways, and brembos if I feel the need to carv up some canyons.
I'd highly recommend the quicklift to anybody who's wondering whether or not they should just do a spacer lift. It's more $$, yes, but the result is a far better ride. I feel like I've properly upgraded the truck as opposed to simply making a compromise so I can run bigger tires. I mean no disrespect to those are perfectly happy with a spacer level.....the reduced suspension droop combined with the trail graps meant it simply wasn't ideal for me. Just don't do what I did and waste money on labor putting in a level and alignment, only to change it up a year later!
Hope this helps anybody who is considering the quicklift. Pics to come after a wash

A few iphone pics. The front of the truck is definitely lower than it was with the AS 2 inch level but I like it regardless. I did a bit of trimming when I had the level and with the quicklift I have yet to experience any rubbing.

Your truck looks perfectly level...looks great! Keep in mind that at times you need to play with the air pressure in your tires to help dampen some of those bumps. With the Ranchos you can dial it in but adding/lowering PSI will also affect the ride.
Congrats!
Congrats!

subscribing...got any pics of the suspension?
