difference in shocks

Hey everyone, i was wondering what the difference in ride quality there is between the rancho 5000 and 9000 shocks that i will be using wit the 4" lift for my 08 F150. this is a street truck so not much if any off-road driving will be done. just looking for the most comfortable ride on the street.

Thanks Guys!

I had the 9000 shocks on my old truck and the nice thing about them is they are ride adjustable. You can adjust the stiffness.

Yeah, on my previous truck I had the 5000's and they ride pretty stiff. Got the 9000's on my present truck, '08 Screw, and it rides like a luxury car on the highway.

No sweat. They're pretty sweet shocks. My only regret was installing them and then selling the truck just a few months later!

Yea I also have a 99 mustang GT which i have put a lot of money into and i am thinking of selling it but im like i have put so much money into this is it really worth selling it? But then i think that it keeps getting me in trouble, cops are always pulling me over for some reason! lol. so i think that i might be getting rid of that even though i really dont want to. Anyway Thanks for all everyones comments on these shocks!!

No sweat. And yeah, might be time to sell it, although it sounds like a fun toy! Are you planning to install these shocks yourself or have someone else do them? One really nice feature I found when installing them is they are self-loaded. Sorry for the analogy, but similar to when you get those soaps that come in a pump. You turn the head and then it releases. So I know a lot of shocks, you need a compressor or have to keep them binded until you're ready to put them in. With these shocks, I was able to secure one end of the shock, release the other end and it slowly extends, allowing you time to position it properly. Thought that was a great bonus.

9000 is a great shock. I run them on my truck. Love the adjustable feature. I crank them to 9 when I'm towing and back them off to 5 when I'm unloaded.

Look for rebates on Rancho shocks. I got 100 bucks back on a card when I bought mine.

Only complaint about the shocks in the cheap paint job on them. I scuffed mine and covered them with a coat of silver Rust-O-Leum paint before I installed them. The color matched perfect to Rancho's. Still no surface rust after 2 years.
