lifting an 06 2wd

I just bought an 06 F150 2wd supercrew with a 6.5' box. It is a Lariat with 18s with 265/60/18s on it. It sits on the ground!!! I don't want it tall, just at least up where a 4x4 sits. I have a set of 275/65/18s for it which are 1.5" taller than whats on it, and Im sure they will clear. But want it a little taller without spending much $$$. It appears to me that the only difference between a 2wd and 4wd suspesnion is the struts and the block in the rear. can I just swap in some 4x4 stuff from salvage? It does have high miles so I want a budget build!!

You can buy a coil/shock assy with the lift built in. Your shocks are probably bad anyways if the truck has high miles unless somebody changed them recently. Look at the shocks and see if they are OEM, mine are.

All you need to lift it is a leveling kit for the front. If you want it to have some rake, put a block in the back. But as you will probably find out down the road, you WILL want to go bigger. Just keep that in mind.

x2
I started by only wanting a little higher but then bumped it too a 6" and now im still wanting more. But you could get an add-a-leaf, or block for the rear. or just look for a 4x4 oem block that should give you the lift you want. also a leveling kit or some coilovers, for the front. that level like rancho(i believe they make something for the 06) thats gonna be pricer tho then just a spacer. post up some pics of her after your done tho

Cheapest is gonna be level kit and an oem 4x4 block if you can find them just FYI
