i'd go with a narrower 40, probably will have to trim a little as well depending on wheel and tire choice

edit: yes raise the rear up

If the picture in your sig is the way it sits now definitely raise the rear up some. With 40's in the back and the way it is now I see it bottoming out into the bottom of the bedsides all the time, so 2" would definitely help.

They should fit fine, but you should probably raise the rear up with either an add a leaf or lift shackles. dilloncawthon has 41x14.50s on his truck with a 6+3 and a leveling kit and I think the only problem he had was rubbing in the rear.

yeah my next tire is going to be a 40x15.50. like atr04screw said, my main problem was the rear tires scrubbing. i think a 38in. tire is the biggest that can fit in the wheel well so that was the cause.

oh and if you haven't re-geared yet 4.88's will be perfect for that set up. i can hold the brake and when i hit the throttle my back tires almost immediatly start spinning.

the only thing you should watch is the width of the wheels. i know fuel makes some wide wheels with low backspacing so that could cause a problem.

Add-a-leaf the *** end. Front should be plenty clear (may have to trim lower bumper). I wouldn't go wider than a 40X13.50 without some kind of wheel spacer or a 10" wide wheel with at least -25 offset. Gears: 5.13's all the way--yukon makes them for the 9.75 rear end, you just have to grind that center pin down to get it by the ring gear---I did it on my 02 and it works like a champ. Expect a front end shimmy and quick wear on tie rods and ball joints!

I didn't have any problems with that pin. If I remember right there was one part that I had to replace in a different order from removal but I don't remember what it was lol. Everyone makes 5.13's for the 8.8 front and rear but Yukon is the only one I found that makes them for the 9.75 rear.

if i remember correctly the problem with 5.13's was nobody made them for the front reverse cut and you had to get a set custom made.

When I was in the market for 5.13's it seemed like almost everyone had them for the 8.8 IFS. I had to HUNT for the 9.75 R&P. Finally found them at Ron's Machine Shop on eBay from Yukon.
