Question 2.5" level with 5" of backspacing?

I want to level my f150 lariat supercrew 4x4 with the BDS 2.5" level kit. It says to use 35" tires with 5.5"-6.5" of backspacing. Is it possible to get away with 5" of backspacing? would i need to trim anything? if so, what and how much? I have found wheels with +1 offset with 5" of backspacing and i really want these wheels (wrapped with 33" mud grapplers). thanks for the help!

To use a 35" tire you should use 5.5"-6.5" of backspace, but since you are running a 33" tire then you should be fine. The only thing I would be worried about is the big side lugs of the mud grapplers rubbing some of the suspension components.

If u are sticking with 33s, the backspacing won't be as important. To fit 35s with just a level the backspacing is key. As similar to stock as possible will allow the largest tire fitment. How wide are the wheels u are looking at? They will stick out a little more than stock, but not too much. What year is your truck as well?

2011 lariat supercrew. i want 20x9" wheels. they also make the 20x9" in 5.5" of backspacing but i really like the agressive wide stance of the 5" backspacing. but one thing i am not sure is the difference in how much they would stick out between 5 and 5" of backspacing.

If the wheels are both the same width, it would be a half inch more with the 5s, plus whatever the difference in offset is in millimeters. If the 5 is a 1 offset and the 5.5 is a 20 offset the difference would be the obvious half inch plus the difference of 19mm in offset, so overall around 3/4 to an inch more.

And since your truck is an 11, u will probably only need a 2 inch level to achieve the level. The 2.5 may leave u nose high. Do u plan on adding a bigger block in the rear or leaving it stock? There are many different brands of levels that all do the same thing.

You're welcome. I went with autospring off of eBay. A lot of members on here have them. Pawpaw has same year truck as yours with 2 inch autospring level and I think it looks great. Check his out.

Yep. I have 3.55s with 33s and it does just fine. If u don't want to get a programmer to recalibrate for the larger tires, u can take it to the dealership and have them do it. Helps with proper shift points and speedometer.
