What shocks would you reccomend

Well guys the time has come to replace the original shocks on my F150 and I would like to know what would you recommend me, right now the truck has the original ones, I will replace both because the shocks have damaged the link kits because they are not doing their work. My truck is a F150 lariat crewcab but 4x2. I travel a lot on highway so I want a shock that feels ok for long travels I dont want the truck to be rigid or too soft. I have to do this now because next thing will be the front tires

Year of the truck would be helpful. But you can never go wrong with bilsteins. And what link kit are you referring too?

If you are refering to the sway bar end links, those are prone to break on our trucks. Replace them with Moogs from your local auto parts store. Should only run you about $20.

I already bought the Moog End links but its the second time in 4 months I have to replace them, and thats when my mechanic told me that the shocks need to be replaced, I was looking at the Monroe Reflex shocks and the one that comes the complete kit with the spring and strut mount(Monroe quick strut)http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web..._1822371567___

has any body bought this kit?

OPPS hehe forgot to tell you the year and yes its a 04+ Lariat CrewCab, since I bought the truck I replaced the lower ball joints with Moogs, the Outer Tie Rods and the sway bar link kits all moog, my truck its almost all the time at highway so thats why I would like to keep the stock feel on the front end and thats why I would like some recommendations on what shocks should I use, I used to have the Sensa Track on my old cougar and they were ok for a car but I dont know how will they feel on the truck

Bilstein or Monroe? Which would you recommend

Well guys Im new to the forum and I own a 04 F150 Lariat CrewCab 4x2(newbodystyle) and Im about to replace the original front shocks, I installed yesterday new tires(Hankook Dynapro 265/65/18) and confirmed that my truck needs new shocks and will have to replace again the end link kits. I do a lot of highway driving and from time to time I tow a small trailer and go by horrible roads not too often. My question is wich one would you reccomend..Bilstein or the Monroe Sensatracks? Thank You

I'd go with bilsteins but I'm a bit bias to them haha.

I used Monroe sensatrac on my '01 and Bilsteins on my '09. The Monroes are a little softer ride than the Bilsteins. Bilsteins are stiff, but do great towing. Based on your description I would probably go with the Monroes.

Bilsteins likely will last longer than the Monroes, but then they cost more? Smooth roads and a heavy PU, doubt the Bilsteins will ride too bad?

I have bilsteins. Great shock. Got them off ebay. Installed at pepboys $20each and had a 50% off coupon so only $10 each to install! Great investment.

KYB makes a great shock too!! We recommend those to a lot our customers over the monroe shocks/struts. We put them on my moms 05 E150 conversion van, and she loves them...its the first time we have ever put a shock on her vehicle and she has noticed a difference! All of our customers that have gotten KYB's loved them

I put the Monroe Reflex on my work truck - 04 Dodge Hemi 1500 Crew 4x4. Mostly highway miles with some back roads, ride was ok but there seemed to be allot of bounce in the front end when going down the interstate or on rutted gravel roads. That being said they have lasted nearly 80K miles. Always had good luck with Monroes but I would probably go with something else or maybe a different model if I had to do it again.

I just installed Rancho Quicklifts on the front of my truck (haven't had time to put the rear set on) and with the adjustment ***** on 1 it rides almost as smoothly as my Expedition. I guess time will tell how they hold up and if the ride stays smooth at this setting. I'm hoping it get even smoother when I get the rears on.
