Installing level on '01??

Guys I've got an '01 4x4 offroad. My problems began with my truck squating everytime I hooked onto any kind of a load at all, car trailer, stock trailer, anything. So I did some looking and found I was running on my overloads with no load on. Problem, Screw this, a week later I was installing add-a-leafs. Great, fixed that problem, the problem now is I'm sitting about 3" higher in the *** end. So my Rough Coountry 2.5" leveling kit is on the way.

Now for the install, I've worked on about everything (I live on a farm and have full access to a shed full of Craftsman and what not) but; my lifting experience is limited to a body lift on a buddies tacoma..

Can anybody direct me in the right direction? Links to directions?
How did you do it? What problems will I run into?

Thanks

DON"T INSTALL THAT. Leveling key's will ruin your front suspension, you'll be replacing ball joints monthly just about and you'll never get it back in alignment properly. Those leveling key's put you way out of factory spec.

Your best bet is to return it and get your money back. Then go out, crank your torsion bars for free. And use the money you spent on that kit and get an alignment.

I swear they need to make a sticky on not using those keys. A thread pop's up about them once a week.

Exactly right. Get 1.5" or so out of your stock keys for free or buy a full suspension lift. I've done the leveling keys before. Trust me, don't do it. I hate torsion bars so much. That's actually a big reason why I got an f-150 instead of a silverado. Ford put coilovers on in 2004 and Chevy didn't until 2007. And I like the looks of f150s more too

If your rear is still too high after the torsion bar crank, take that aal off and switch to airbags. They work great. Just fill them up when loaded and u will not squat. Some pics of my leveled 06 with quite the load and no squat in my profile if interested. I paid 200 and install was relatively easy.

Guys, I have the keys, I appreciate the advice but I wasn't asking if I should do it, I was asking how to do it. If I put them on and begin to have troubles I'll deal with it. And 1000+ for a full lift doesnt sound to enticing...
I considered air bags but $90 vs the $300 dollar price I was shot seemed like a no brainer.
I love my truck and take care of it and I don't like to half-*** stuff but I'm also paying for college and my other hobbies.
If anyone can answer my questions about install it would be greatly appreciated.

To install lot's of pb blaster or heat to get them loose, not together though. Also make sure you support the truck by the frame with jackstand's so the suspension is dropped it make's it a lot easier.

Also a cheater bar will definitely help because chances are they're gonna be rusted into place pretty tight.

Got the keys installed, new stance is sweet. After fighting the bars for awhile I realized you can take the cross member which the bars sit in loose and change the keys without breaking the bars loose.
All in all it wasn't bad and I like the results, hopefully it won't cause problems in the future. Getting alligned and new tires tomorrow.
