Pretty smokin' deal. Those kits are over $2200.

So would most retailers! Jobber price (retail) on the most stripped-down version of that kit is around $2,000. A distributor who buys them by the truck load might get 45% back. A jobber (installer) is going to pay 35% back, or about $1300.

$1100 was either for a used kit or a fire sale. If it was sold by an authorized dealer, I bet Skyjacker is not happy with them.

he bought it off ebay IIRC. there are deals like that fairly frequently if you keep your eyes open. obviously you won't get a stage 2 fabtech for that but if you are looking for a basic lift patience pays off.

2 1/2" leveling kit with 315x70x17 (35x12.5) BFG's on 17x8 wheels with 5 1/2 inches of BS with no rubbing. Wheels play a big part for clearing 35's. This is on my 2004 4x4 Lariat

Ya I wouldn't install myself. I like to get things done the first time the right way. I'll probably just wait and buy a nice 6" suspension lift.

Are Body lifts safe if you put things in the truck? I have a fairly heavy Yamaha Nytro that I take around the winter. I hear stories of the bl pushing through.

They'll push through if your body is starting to rust or if you excessively beat on the truck but just hauling weight in the bed you should be okay.

make sure to put the bed supports in (metal blocks that weld on the frame), i see tons of trucks that don't have those installed and that's going to cause issues quickly. i think with them you will be fine.

That will clear 35"s.

Like others have said, they are a lot of work to install properly. It's the people that take shortcuts that have problems with them. Count on a full weekend. But shops that do them a lot have it down and can get them in and out in a day. SWAT customs near me will install them for $600.

About $1200 installed is a lot less than you can buy a stage 1, 6" suspension, and you get the same performance.
How do you figure it is a lot cheaper or will perform the same? You can get a RCX 6" kit for around $1300. The suspension kits on these trucks are extremely easy to install and do not require any special tools other than normal hand tools, a drill, and a angle grinder. I did mine in my driveway with a jack and jackstands. I did my last two trucks at my apartment.

Yea same performance? Not likely. Suspension actually effect's suspension whether it be a better ride, more flex, etc. Body lift's do nothing more than raise the body and set them on a stress point.
