Unhappy Steering column popping

When accelerating, braking or going over bumps my steering column pops. Sound's like the steering shaft is coming trough the wheel at times. Any ideas?

I have this same issue. Did you ever find a resolution?

Anyone else have any clues to this? Feels almost like a shock is hanging up. When I press the brakes, the front goes down (As normal) and I get the popping through the steering. Hit the gas (front goes up) and I can feel it also. 56K on my 99.
Any help with this would be great. Searched the site and couldn't really find much that matched the description until I found this post.

My Sterring Wheel

Just to let you guys know I had the exact same thing happening to my 2003 Supercrew. It had only 2500 miles on it too! Well I took it to the dealer. They had to replace the lower steering wheel shaft as it was bad. It's a two piece shaft. It was covered under my warranty but at only 2500 miles and having the truck for only 3 months, I was not happy. I love my truck and have many plans for it, but I hope it's not something that becomes a regular problem. Let us know how it goes and good luck!

Anyone else had this issue. Still trying to figure it out. I will be looking at the lower steering wheel shaft soon.
