2001 4x4 has just started to sqeak real bad on drivers side front end, it only seems to sqeak if i turn sharp or go over a bump in the road, i searched for info hear and the general problem seemed to be the lower control arm ball joint? i looked at it and the rubber cover was cracked so i tried to stuff some grease in there but i dont know if this is the problem, my question is if this is the problem about how much is it to fix and will it harm it to just let it squeak? thanks for any advice!!

 

when you were under there did you happen to check the sway bar links? bumps will cause a squeaky, chirping noise. just a thought and much easier than control arm, good luck.
