I dont have pics, but the upper ball joint is at the same angle as a 4x4 with a 3'' leveling kit, its not the best angle but it wont hurt anything, everything else is just fine. The back is stock and with a angle gauge on the frame it sets perfectly level.

Little update guys:

I bought the 1.5" AS level kit and had it installed along with my new 20s wrapped in 305/55/20s. I love it so far, but I'm really wanting an extra inch or two. I figure I could throw a block in the back, but is there any other no-too-expensive mod I can do upfront to keep it level?

Anyone tried putting the Bilsteins on WITH a leveling kit? Or is this just crazy?

Thanks.

The bilsteins take the place of a leveling kit, stacking them would destroy your ball joints in no time most likely.

If you want it a little bit higher, Replace the leveling kit with 4x4 Bilstiens, They are 1" taller than the 2wd version and dont stack the leveling kit on top of the Bilstiens..

I have ICON coil overs on my FX2 and they are cranked at 2" and they are the same length as the 4x4 Bilstiens, So I have a total of 3" of lift in the front and can still crank the coil overs up 1" more but dont want to ruin my ball joints.

So the Bilstiens will actually give me 3" of lift in the front? What do I do about the rear? A 1" block or are the rear shocks adjustable as well? I would like to remain as level as possible. All I'm looking to get is the same height as a stock 4x4 with a leveling kit installed, similar to my previous '08.

Thanks.

Or BLACKOUT, how about you sell me your coilovers since you are getting rid of your truck soon (read it in another post)!? Maybe?

Last update I hope! 2 more questions:

I found a guy locally here in Houston that is selling a 6" Rough Country suspension lift for a great price. I'm 99% sure I'm going to buy that and put it on my FX2. My only concern now is what I've read about putting a 6" lift on a 2WD and how it will really only give me a 4" of lift since it's a 2WD. What can be added to give me a true 6" lift? The guy selling me the kit even said as far as he knows it will only lift the rear 4".

Also, can I leave my AS 1.5" leveling kit on there or should I take it off? Maybe the lift comes with with it's own spacer? The guy I'm buying the kit from also said he will be throwing in some type of spacer that actually goes inside the strut free of charge, which is required to make the kit work on a 2WD.

Thanks guys

By the way, here is what comes with the kit. I'm wary about the 4" block, but then again, it is made for a 4x4:

Front: Lifted knuckles, strut spacers, front and rear crossmembers, differential drop brackets, sway-bar drop brackets, brake line brackets, and drive shaft spacer.

Rear: 4" lifted fab blocks, ubolts, e-brake cable relocation bracket, and brake line brackets.

Shocks: Kit includes (2) rear High Performance 2.2 Shocks.

you get a true 6" lift, compared to a 4x4 with a 6" lift you will sit ~2" lower due to being smaller from the factory. your leveling kit can stay if the lift kit does not have a 6" spacer, if it has a spacer you need to get bilstein 5100's and adjust up to 2"

is this kit for a 2 or 4wd? lifted knuckles and diff drop implies a 4wd lift kit which will NOT work on your truck. strut spacer means no AS level on it, you will need bilsteins

edit: are you referring to the guy on craigslist called mayco motorsports? call texas truck works on 1488/2978. will be similar to that price. IIRC 1850 installed for a 4wd so their 2wd should be slightly cheaper, they do pretty good work.

Check this out

Thanks for your reply!

I am buying it from an individual, not Mayco Motorsports. Here is the ad:

http://houston.craigslist.org/pts/2575082106.html

I called Rough Country directly to see if the lift will fit my FX2 since it is technically a 4WD kit, and they had no idea. The seller told me he was able to contact a friend of his at Pro Comp tech who told him the only thing in addition that I needed was the spacers that fit inside the struts to make it work, which the seller said he would throw in free of charge since he had some laying around. I found it odd that Rough Country did not know their own product very well, but luckily someone else was able to give me the answer. So, in summary, I have been told that it will indeed work.

You are recommending that I buy Bilstein 5100s just for the front and put them at the 2" setting since my AS leveling kit will need to be removed? I'm guessing I should go with the 2WD version, not the 4WD version?

Thanks

DO NOT BUY A 4wd version, IT WILL NOT WORK. don't try and save $200 dollars and then pay for labor for something that will not work.

call the shop i posted up as well as cutten customs and see where they come in at. i bet you can get 1800-1900 installed.

a 4wd kit WILL NOT WORK. completely different. you can't make a knuckle become a spindle.
