fox 2.0 resivoir shocks

fox 2.0 resivoir shocks

i have a rize lift with fox resi shocks in the rear. i've had it lifted for a couple years now and the shocks are really starting to look corroded. does anyone know how to make them look good again?

The casings are corroded or the actual rod itself?

I am assuming they are aluminum body shocks and it really depends on how bad the corrosion is and what caused it. If it was road salt I would say they are going to be pitted pretty bad because of how agressive road salt is. If it's just lite corrosion good old elbow grease and a really good metal polish will do the trick and after you get them cleaned up coat them in light oil or diesel. There is a trucking company where I live that runs nothing but polished aluminum dump trailers and every fall they spray them with diesel to protect the aluminum from road salt and they always look awesome come spring time.

thanks, yea i assume its from road salt, the shock bodies are corroded and fairly badly at that..
