Unhappy Popping and creaking after lift

I just got my 6" Procomp 2wd lift and 35's. Sometimes when I go over bumps or take turns I hear some popping and/or creaking in the front end. Should I be worried? What should I tell 4wheelparts when I go back in 10 days for a check-up? Thanks.

hey offroaddude. well i think i might have a few ideas about your lift. when i had mine, my upper a arms were hitting the springs when i went over bumpr and stuff. the creaking just might be the springs settleing. ask 4wh if the springs are all the way in the buckets. im sure they are. but its jsut a thing to check. well hope everything goes ok

The noise should go away when they retorque all the bolts. If it doesn't then make them fix it. A properly installed lift should not make any noise.

I got the lift from 4wheelparts during their summer sale which ended at the end of the month. I got the Procomp 6" lift for 2WD for 1249 + tax and the install was free due to the sale. The sale also included 3 for 1 on Procomp tires so I got the all terrains. All in all it came to $2550.00 tax included. I'd definitely recommend going to 4WP. The guys at the shop I went to in Houston were very nice and did whatever they could to make my truck look great (which included rushing in some new control arms for free from Procomp so that my 35's would fit without rubbing). I say go for it! I'm really happy with mine.

Hey Offroad Guy,

I had the 3.5" Fab-Tech A-Arm lift done at 4WheelParts here in Plano about 3 weeks ago. I have the same popping problem, usually when hitting dips or cornering at speed. I had 4Wheel take a look at it when the rechecked the torque settings, but still have the problem. I'm going back again this weekend to get other ideas as to the problem. If you find the fix, please post it here and I'll do the same.

Otherwise, I love the lift.

I had the same symptoms a while back, and when I checked out my front end, it turned out to be the idler arm. Lubing it got rid of the noise but I'm sure it's days are numbered.

Well, I went to 4WP this weekend to try to find the popping problem I'm having. They couldn't figure it out although we think it's the coil springs. All the torque settings are good and everything appears to be where it should be (including the coil spring seating). Still lost for a fix other than having them do a complete re-install. That may be the only fix for my truck.
