Leveled 2006 2wd Screw on 285/75/18
I have a 2006 2wd Screw with a 2.5" Rough Country leveling kit in the front and 1.5" blocks in the rear. It is currently on 265/70/17 tires.
I want to know if a Toyo Open Country A/T 285/75/18 tire would look good on 18" FX4 wheels. The tire measures approx 34.83 inches x 11.2 inches.
My other alternative is a 315/70/17 tire on my current wheels (tire measures approx 34.36 inches x 12.4 inches.
I am thinking about upgrading to a 6" lift at some point but I would like to keep the tires tucked as much as possible as I do not want fender flares. I know with most lifts you cannot use oem wheels, but if I used a tire 1" narrower (the 285/75/18 tire) I was thinking that I could get away with it. I was hoping that whatever tire I pick now will also work and look proportional with a 6" lift using oem wheels.
here is my current setup:

yea i have heard that over and over again, but I posted a pictures of a guy running 315/70/17 which is a 12.5" wide tire.
I am just curious how a 34.8x11.2 inch wide tire will look. I am 99 percent sure that it will work, I just don't want it to look too tall and skinny. and I want to be able to use the tire now as well in the future when I have a 6" lift on it.

Just my opinion. Ride out Ur current tire and get new ones at the same time as lift. U getting a deal on the 18s somewhere. U may as well look into custom wheels as well if Ur doing that much other work to Ur truck. I got mine from discounttiredirect.com for a great deal. They ship free and have good selection. I called when ordering and they gave me a better deal then online was showing.

I agree with Jerrybizzle. You can apparantly fit that tire with the OEM wheels and a leveling kit. But I think that when you install a lift, that tire/wheel combo is gonna look really skinny and odd. It's just about proportion. I have two friends with my generation 4x4' Supercrews and both are running 35x12.50's on the OEM wheels. One is at stock height and the other has a 3 inch body lift. The one with the lift just looks odd to me with the truck sitting up higher over the skinny wheels. But it's all about what you like.
