Will replacing 2wd to 4wd shocks add ride right in rear?

I have oem 4x4 blocks in the rear of my 2wd truck. I was going to replace the shocks with the oem 4x4 version because I feel like the 2wd ones are just not quite long enough and are probably maxed out.

Will adding the longer shocks raise the rear any more? If so, I'll just add 4wd shocks in the front as well which i know will bring the nose up about an inch.

Also, which shocks should I get? There's Standard, Heavy Duty and Premium. What's the difference? Thanks.

This link should work: http://www.tascaparts.com/partlocato...layCatalogid=0

I've had the 2wd shocks with the 4x4 blocks in there for over a year and a half. I haven't noticed anything weird in the back. It doesn't feel any different. But yes, They're only $38 a piece, so I'll definitely put the 4x4 shocks in there either way.

just depends on what ride your looking for gas shocks ride a little stiffer than standard!

as far as having no problems with the old shock, thats correct you will only notice anything at full extension and im guessing that you dont go wheeling much!

Haha. My truck has never been off road. I avoid ever bump and pothole that I can. My shocks don't see much use.

Anyway, thanks man!

As far as the shocks, those three I am talking about are all oem. And I figured heavy duty would be a little more stiff but am not sure what the difference between standard and premium are.

Anyway, thanks again!

when you get around to doing the fronts, I had posted this a little while back. Apparently Rancho makes quick lift struts that are fully assembled (no dinking with the spring compressor)

Yeah, I saw your post. If you get around to it before me, please let me know how it goes. So the Rancho's are an actual coilover? Are they the ones someone posted pics of? Kinda look like a mini spring around the strut?

If you only put the 4x4 blocks on the back, your stock shocks will likely work, but it's close...

I used 3" blocks on the back of mine and my shocks were banging and making horrible noise at full extension (which is about 1.5" longer than you are now) plus the oil tube ruptured on one of them and I had a wobbley ride... so I replace with the Bilstein 5100's in the back made for the 4x4 and it worked great!!!

as for the front, I used a 3" level kit... it only raised me about 2" measured from the ground to the wheel well... I plan on getting the 4x4 bilsteins for the front and taking off the spacers... I thought that the rancho kit was JUST the shock with the new spring perch setting... I know tha they cost more than the bilsteins, but they are a GREAT idea if they aer a fully assembled strut... lemme know if you find that out!!

Good Luck
