Help me please!!! Advice needed

Hello everyone (sorry for the long post),
I am posting this as a last resort. I have an 09’ screw 4x4 leveled out. I have been toying with the idea of a lift for a little while but keep flip flopping ideas.
I guess my problem is the fact that I don’t want to lift it so high that it’s impractical but I don’t like the stock height. I was really leaning toward a 6” BDS but thought that would be too high. Then I thought the Rancho 4” would be the perfect fit but comparing it to the BDS 6” it doesn’t seem that much lower.
When I do a search online or on this forum for 3” suspension lifts, I can’t find any for my application and after limited research, the 3” doesn’t seem like a sound option due to the “extreme CV angles” (not sure what that means but it sounds bad).
The biggest tire I’d go with is a 35” and the smallest is probably 33”. I’m considering the smaller tire due to the loss in gas mileage however; with more research I may find the numbers of the 35 vs. 33 to be negligible. This would compel me to purchase the 35’s.

I definitely do not want any lift that will wear out parts quicker than normal. Am I asking too much if I want a lift that won’t interfere with the durability/reliability of a stock vehicle? If I am please let me know. I am also more interested in quality parts than a more affordable product at a cheaper price.

Recap: My truck is leveled. I want my truck higher. Not too high, not too low, just right. Quality is important to me. Is there a 3” suspension lift out there or is that a waste of product/money? BDS 6” vs. Rancho 4”…is it a legit 2” difference or about the same?

I know I’m asking a lot of questions, but believe me; I did my due diligence in research and scouting other trucks around me. I did do a search on the forum using the “Search” function but yielded non-applicable results. I do appreciate all your help and words of wisdom! Thank you and Merry Christmas!

I havent heard of our trucks having a 3 inch suspension lift, personally i want to get the rancho 4 inch lift due to the quality of the product and the fact that its not a huge lift to where i have to buy 37 inch tire for it to look good. if your just wanting your truck to sit higher and arent really into offroading or what not why not look at a body lift?

You bring up some good points...I do some offroading but nothing crazy or dangerous. I do think the Rancho is the way to go too. Personally I really don't like body lifts and will stay away from that. Your truck looks awesome already! Thanks for posting and post the pics when you get your Rancho!

I'd go rancho. It sounds like that's what you want and you can run stock wheels

FX4 for life 79: That's probably what I'll do once I save up for it.

Does anyone know the difference in height between rancho 4" vs bds 6"? Obviously 2" but sometimes that isn't the case. To me it looks like they're almost the same height but I've only been able to compare them online.

I'd go with the 4" Rancho, on the 04-08 truck's they were closer to a 5 inch lift. Quality product and like stated before let's you run the stock wheel's. If you leave your leveling kit in you will be taller in addition. 34 or 35 inch tires will look great afterward and still makes a great daily driver. Just my 2 cent's!

I was in the Louisiana Air Guard from 1969-75 in the Civil Engineer's, way back in the Vietnam Era. Remember I'm an old fart!

When I was in they had F-102's, F-100's and then F-4's. We had access to the Air Guard's transport aircraft and they flew us all over the U.S. to do construction job's on various bases. Even went to Alaska and Hawaii. The year after I got out they went to Iceland so I missed that trip.

Haha! No go on the 8"! I'm pretty sure my wife would take my manhood out of her trophy case and throw 'em right into the garbage disposal!

Seriously though, I'm thinking Rancho 4". Just gotta find one and compare it next to the BDS 6"! What do you think?
