Truck Heigth

I'm not sure if a question like this has been posed before and I have not had any luck searching for the answer. Could anyone running either a 4 or 6 inch lift with 35's on a 4wd the same style as an 08 measure how tall their truck it at it's tallest point on it's roof? My garage is a little taller than normal but I want to see if I'd be able to fit with either one of those lifts. Been parking my trucks in there for a while now and not really wanting to park outside. Keep the truck low or look for a bigger garage, hmm.....

Well, sorta along the lines of answering your question because I had the same requirements...parking outside for me was NOT an option.

I pulled my truck into a position under the door frame (which should always bee your choke point) that yielded the closest clearance and measured that gap. That told me about how much I could go. I think I was right at like 6" or something, so I went with a 4" lift and 33's. This is what you need to do instead of going off someone else's measurements. Never been happier!!! (except now that I just moved into my first custom built home and I specifically built 8' doors on my garage;-)

I've done that to get an idea of how high I can go, but you never know if a 6 inch lift truly raises everything 6 inch when all said and done.

NO, you are correct, but you need to factor in tire size as well. With a 6" lift and your new tires, you probably get right at or just over 6" of height increase at your tallest point. I'm not saying asking guys for measurements is a bad idea, I'm just saying I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket...or you'll be parking outside.

If you've done that, how much clearance do you have at your tightest point?? There's too many variables to rely on someone else's measurements, IMHO.

Galaxy appreciate the replies, and I wouldn't blindly go off someone else's measurements, just trying to get a rough idea. Would you amuse me and measure your's if you get any time. If not that is cool, thank you,
Silver T

I've posted this several times, but my garage is 6'10" and I have about 2-3" to spare. So I guess my height is ~6'8". I use 6'10" as my drop-dead minimum height when entering any parking structure. See my sig - I have a 4" Rancho plus a 1" Daystar spacer on 35's.
