Did mine last winter on my 99. I only had to replace my rear joint. check out youtube for some videos to get an idea. you can either beat the joint out, or rent a simple ball joint press tool from your local parts store. I used the press. Mark your driveshaft and flange to make sure you line them up correctly when you re-install. Remove the 4 bolts at the rear flange, then pull the driveshaft to the rear of the truck, and it will come out of the transfer case. Be ready for that. Not heavy, but try not to ding stuff up. Place the driveshaft snugly in a vice, use a press to push out the caps. Then replace the joint with your new one. I can't remember which way to mount first, I think the driveshaft legs first. Make sure all c-clips are nice and mounted in their place. Then re-install in your truck. This is where you may want a friend to help hold the driveshaft. Not necessary, but I would have like some help in the dark! It took me about 2 hours, but I was working in single digit temps, in the dark, and my bad u-joint was frozen in place by rust.
