Need Info for Lift Kit
Need Info for Lift Kit
Hello all,
Hope I can get some good info here. I am looking to put a 6" Lift Kit in my 2004 F 150 Super Crew. I have the 2 1/2" leveling kit in the front end with 20" wheels. I have been told that with the lift kit the leveling kit will not be used. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a good lift kit to fit my Screw. I believe I want the suspension lift. I want the lift but don't want to loose the smooth ride. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First question, how much are you looking to spend? If your fixed on a 6'' I would say as far as quality goes, go fabtech. You can even go with their dirtlogic coilovers if your wanting to spend money. If your wanting to save a little I would say either procomp or BDS
depending on which lift you get, you may or may not be able to also use your leveling spacer. some lifts are really just big spacers for the front, and others use new coil assemblies. if you go with a front spacer lift (such as pro comp stage 1), then you SHOULD NOT use the spacer on top of the kits spacer. if you go with a coil lift (such as pro comp stage 2, RCD, and others), then you can stack your spacer on top without a problem. in fact, a lot of people on this site have done just that, and then run 37" tires. i am running a RCD 6", but i think if i was going to do it again i would go with fabtech.
a bad thing to stacking your spacer with a lift is that you will need to compensate in the rear. some lifts will leave the front higher than the rear as it is, and a spacer will only add to the difference.
my advice is to decide on how high you want to go, do research, look at pics, and save your money. do it all at once, and dont "piece it together". you will save yourself time, hassle, and money by doing it all at once, as big as you would want to go.
