Add-A-Left and Air Bags

Right now i have a 2.5 leveling kit on the front. Im looking to raise it a little more. Anyone have the set up of an AAL and Airbags? Or any other suggestions on lifts. Suspensions are nice but I havent been able to find a good deal on one yet.

If you're looking for a little more lift the add-a-leaf is prob. the cheapest solution next to adding a bigger block. An airbag kit like the firestone or Air-Ride usually run around 200 bucks. I installed the air-ride on my truck just because I like the idea of being able to inflate the bags for when i tow our trailer, this way the back end doesn't start sagging and stays level. A add-a-leaf also acomplishes this as well. If you do go with a new leaf. try and get a Long add-a-leaf, they are supposed to not ride as harsh as a short add-a-leaf.

FYI i can get about 1"-1.5" of lift if I inflate my airbags to about 20psi or so. Add-a-leafs usually are around 2" i believe.

That's about what I get out of my Ride Rite bags at 20 psi, but, they go up to 100psi! I have never measured but it probably raises the back 4" +/- at 100 psi. I like the bags cause you can deflate them enough to just maintain your desired lift height when unloaded for a close to factory ride. With the AAL, what you get is what you get. Plus, the bags are much easier to install.

I agree! I've had AAL pain in a$$ to install rough ride! I now have air ride air bags 1 hour to install, I also tow trailer daily. You can get a lift block for the air bags, they come in 2";4" and 6". I used blocks from body lift + longer bolts!

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I didnt want to start another post. I have a leveled fx4 and a 3in block right now with 35's. Im looking to raise the rear a little more, but also need a little more support when towing my tri-jetski trailer and occasionally a friends boat. Should I go with AAL or airbags? my concern is that I never tow during the winter and I don't want poor ride quality.

Also, if I were to get airbags, any suggestions on a brand and place to get a good deal on them?

AAL is a leaf spring with a bigger curve most give you 2" of lift but make the ride stiff cost about $100. Air bags you can adjust psi if towing or just out for a drive! cost about $300. I've had AAL made me pee alot driving. I now have air bags and love them! They also helped in taking out body roll!

Sounds like the air bags would fit your needs very well. They will give you the ability to raise the rear more than the 1.5" you are gettinig out of your 3" block and will support more weight when towing. When not towing, just deflate until your desired height is acheived. I went with the Firestone Ride Rite kit from Summit Racing, see link below. I ran the air lines out to the back of the truck and used the Schrader Valves as two of the rear license plate bolts when I first got it. I just installed a license plate frame rear view camera so I had to move the valves so I just drilled two holes to the left of the license plate through the plastic and it works great! Go with an onboard compressor if you want to bea able to inflate from inside the cab!

Will the firestone rite-ride kit 2320 work with the fabtech 6' lift? If the rear springs are wearing out, would it be a better choice to install new ones or install the air bags to control rear end sag while towing/hauling. I have priced new springs at $400 while the air bags are $210.

fabtech 6" w/35" procomp all terrains
