I am confused as to why the bolt is not coming out. Is there a load on the lower control arm?!? The arm needs to be hanging free. And post a pic of what you're looking at. I cannot imagine that bolt being that hard to remove.
yeah so i've been attempting to remove these 2 bolts for about 4 hours now and still no luck. I was able to turn one almost out but it has got to the point that i can no longer turn it with a breaker bar. so i started hitting it with a punch and sledge, but still no luck. is there any danger if i keep hitting it? like will the rubber bushing be destroyed? and can i replace those rubber bushings if i do destroy them without buying a hole new lca?
I had one that I worked on for 6 hours trying to get it out. Tried everything mentioned above, and it just would not come out. I ended up using a repo saw and cutting the bolt between the arm and frame member. Even after removing the LCA, the bolt would not come out. I even drilled the center out, soaked in everything including Kroil, tried heat, putting it in the freezer, BFH, BF pipe wrench, etc. After wrestling with it for 2 full days, I went a bought a new LCA.
yea thats what i ended up doin i went through 2 diamond grit sawzall blades then bought two used lca's on ebay cuz i could get the bolts out. i tried to press them out with my shop press but just ended up busting my arbors.
