Need Help Measuring For Coilovers.

I contcted Off Road Warehouse to see if they had sway away coilovers in stock for a 6" lift. I explained to the guy that I have a 6" spacer and a 2.5" spacer stacked for 8.5" and that I want a coilover to replace them. He said that KING would have to build them for me and they would come in Red to match my truck. I thought KING's where blue? He's telling me that I need to take my shock off and measure it so they can build a coilover to fit my truck. I'm getting confused. All I want is a normal coilover that fits a 6" Procomp lift and can be adjusted to get an additional 2" by cranking them up. If I measure my strut at the length it is now it'll be to long since I have those spacers stacked. Do I really need to measure my strut or do they make a standard coilover for a 6" lift? If I do have to measure it then I would need to take the 2.5" spacer off and measure the strut with the 6" Procomp spacer.

I can't really offer much help with the measurement, maybe get in contact with King and see what exactly they would recommend taking the measurement from?

King will anodize/powder coat there stuff nearly any color for an additional 150-200 bucks last I checked. I wish I had taken advantage of this because now it would cost me nearly double that to disassemble the shocks, send them off, then put them back together. The blue clashes with everything about my truck..

I just contacted Sway Away and the guy there just made everything much easier for me. The guy from ORW must have thought I wanted a coilover for 8.5" because of the two spacers I have stacked. I tried to explain to him that I wanted the same coilover Procomp and Fabtech make for there 6" lifts, but he said KING would still need measurements. When I talked to one of the guys at Sway Away he said they actually make a Coilover to those specs to fit a 6" Procomp lift and he gave me the part number so I should be good to go now.

Told ya! SAW for the win!!! They have been in the shock businees just as long as king. Hell they were all combined as Kuster then split to King and SAW. But SAW stayed more customer service friendly.

SAW makes a suspension kit that fits Fabtech and Procomp's 6" lift. Only issue now is that the rear shocks they use are discontinued so theyre in the process of getting new ones. They have it in there catalog which is why I was all confused when he said I would need to start taking my shocks out and measuring and KING would have to build them. Guess it's always best to contact the manufacture first then a dealer.

I don't need anything custom built bc all I'm looking to do is get coilovers made Like fabtechs and procomps then adjust them like others are doing to get an additional 2" to fit 37s. The only reason I want to go with sway away is bc they're red. Other than that I would have ordered the Procomp ones
