Some explaination on shock mounts Please!!

When looking under my truck I noticed that the rear shock on the drivers side mounts to the frame behind the rear axle. On the passenger side it mounts in front of the axle. But, there is also an identical mounting location at the rear side of the axle on the passenger side. What is the reason for the flip flop mount? Would it hurt to mount both shocks on the rear of the axle? Thanks

The staggered mounting is supposed to prevent wheel hop. You can mount them either way, however on my truck my exhaust pipe is in the way of mounting my right shock the other way.

As mentioned, supposed to control wheel hop. 40,000 miles the staggered way and 61,000 miles this way. Never been able to tell a difference at all. I swapped to this way for the looks!!

It's the stock 4WD block with the block that came with the lift. I think it measures 3".

The shocks are Rancho 9000XL ProSeries remote reservoirs. They are awesome.
