sway bar end links

putting my new wheels on the other day, i noticed that both my sway bar end links are broken. i checked them about 1k miles ago when i did my last tire rotation, and they were good. i thought it was strange that both are broken now 1k miles later. i was wondering if the fact that i cranked the torsion bars had anything to do with it. i know that puts extra stress on suspension components and since they are attached to the lower control arms, they would definitely have more stress put on them from the leveling. is there a longer end-link that i can put on or something to keep this from happening again? i'd hate to have to replace these things every couple thousand miles. i do them at work all the time and usually end up having to torch them out cause they like to spin when you put a wrench on them.
