How to crank coilovers

Basically what the title says. ive got procomp coilovers and i want to crank them to get 2 inches of lift. How do i do this. Also after i crank them could i put a 2inch spacer in to get a total of ten inches of lift or would that be a bad idea.

Theres a tool they use to crank them, not sure where to get it at. No spacer will be needed, if you were to crank your coilovers up 2 inches and then put a 2" spacer, that would be like putting a 4" spacer up front. Your truck wouldnt last a week.

The shop that put them on cranked them.. I think its easier to crank them before you put them on, but either way it can be done.

You need a spanner wrench, I got mine from harbor freight for like 20 bucks. You would also be wise to pick up a coil spring compressor or rent one. When I cranked mine I had one person grabbing the coil and turning it, while I wrenched down on the top collar... It took forever but got it done. Next time I will just get the coil spring compressor. I have also tried to crank them off the truck (w/out a spring compressor) and it was a no go, with a spring compressor it would definitely be easier off the truck.

also you might want to protect the top coil spring collar with something like a rag wrapped around the spanner wrench, or I put a bunch of duct tape around the spanner wrench to keep it from marring up the collar.

Yea, it should be off in their massive automotive section It will come with several size heads/spanners in the kit so it should work with your coilovers easily. They also sell coil spring compressor's (manual version) and I have heard of horror stories from using the harbor freight spring compressor; If you go that route I'd just rent it from autozone or something.

Haven't gotten the springs yet; I think they are still moving to the new location. Shouldn't be too long though and I'll let ya know when the deavers are off

I can understand that! we just got something like 14" of snow on top of 1.5" of ice and the roads are all rutted and rough as hell. The kings are riding rough as hell, but that is my fault for jamming 18" springs on there when they never should have fit and topping them out. The rear is smooth as heck though! the deavers paired with the King PB's are just eating it up smooth as ever; I'd rather ride in the bed

Haha the rear might ride even better when you get that block out. Just put u a camper shell back there with a seat inside and have someone drive you around.

i did mine on the truck with somewhat of ease. i got a universal morosso spanner wrench for 23 bucks on amazon. if you are gonna do it off the truck, put the top end in a bench grip(dont know the real name for it) and pull pretty hard. lube it up first though
