Has anyone on here installed the RC 6" lift themselves. If so how hard was it to install any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have. The only hang ups I had was that the add a leaf that came with the kit did not have the pre drilled holes. I had to take them to a shop to find a drill press that would drill the holes. Then there was some minor cutting in the front end. Overall not that bad.

nafirefighter- Did you happen to get the kicker braces with the lift? I saw them on the website and didnt know what they were or if they were really needed for a daily driven street queen. I was thinking about getting the lift myself.

i have no experience with the RC lift, but for piece of mind why not spend a few more $$ and get the BDS lift or Pro-Comp lift.

BDS has an excellent reputation and quality products

they have a no "fine print" warranty meaning if you break a part they will replace it for free as long as you own the vehicle/lift.

their basic spacer lift which is comparable to the RC, comes with an Block + AAL to lift the rear , and also comes with new front brake lines. i ve also read some threads where members were having trouble keeping their truck aligned since RC switched to regular bolts instead of cam bolts in the front crossmember.

I was quoted $1,650 for their spacer lift. For an extra $200 i got new struts. also i got them to throw in dual steering stabilizers

I ve had my bds lift on for about a month now, and i love it.

The only reason you prolly havent heard too much about BDS is b/c they do not sell their kits online (only on their website) but if you go to a local shop that carries them, you will be surprised on what kind of price you can get.

Im not knocking RC since i dont have any first hand experience with their lift, im just saying for an extra $200, you can get a quality lift kit with a lifetime warranty.

Check out their website, dont go by the prices on there though, you can get a much better deal in your local shop

my lift retails for $2,700 on their site, i got it for $1,850 with dual steering stabilizers like i mentioned

Not sure about the kicker braces I don't recall anything like that or maybe there is a different name to the part you are talking about. Nothing wrong with the rough country lift. 1400 shipped to the door and it sits just like any other 6 inch suspension.

I have a buddy that has a dealers license and can get me the rc lift for under 1300 so I would be saving 500 over the bds.

I am going to check with my buddy and see what kind of deal he can get me on the bds and also have him check the warranty on the rc lift.

I say go with bds, just cause of the fact they offer lifetime warranty, there isnt too many companies that do that these days.

Just because the rough country lift is cheaper doesn't mean it's not good quality. I have not had the first problem out of mine and sits just as high as any other lift. It's all in oppinion. But just letting you know that I run the rough country and it hasn't gave me problems.

what kind of warranty do they have, then again if it don't break you don't need a warranty.
