04-08 4wd shocks on a 2wd? Any thoughts

My buddy has a 2wd 04 f150 and he wants more height. He already has a 2.5 inch leveling kit and the front fenders are about level with the rear. Is i possible to put 4wd shocks on his truck and add a leveling kit?

why not? both trucks front suspensions seem familiar. The 4x4 just has 4wd cv axles. You sure wandell?

i forget the specific reasons why but there was a thread on this awhile back and i think the consensus was its either the 2wd struts and level or 4wd

the suspension may look similar...but the geometry is totally different. a 2wd with 4x4 shocks will not have the same controll arm angles as a stock 4x4. The controll arm angles on a 2wd with 4x4 shocks will be similar to a 4x4 truck with a leveling kit. Make sence?

If you combine a leveling kit and 4x4 coilovers on a 4x2 I don't think you could even get the front end bolted back together because of the severe angles.

So would it be possible to just have 4x4 shocks on the 4x2? But that would prob be the same as a 2wd with a leveling kit
