leveling kit..max tire size with 17 inch wheels

hey I just bought a 2005 F150 screw fx4 and it only has 24,000 miles at 5 years old!! Im planning on keeping it basic as possible with out swapping out a llot of stock parts while still getting a little height out of the deal. I do tow a boat and small trailers but other than that its a daily driver. level kit 33s or 35s let me know what everyone thinks thanks a lot much appreciated.

I agree...33's. That's what I have on my truck. 2" level and 33" Toyo's, no rubbing at all.

WIth a leveling kit you can fit a 35x12.50 using the OEM wheels but they will rub the control arms slightly at full steering lock.

I'm running 34" Toyo MTs with a 2" leveling kit with no rubbing and no trimming... I also have 17 inch wheels with 4.56 inches of BS...

I run 315- 70- 17 BFG ATs on OEM rims, and like wandell said I only get rubbing at full lock.

Can I run a 17" wheel on an 04 FX4 with the factory 18's? Doesnt look like there is a lot of clearance around the brakes.

35's theyll rub like as the general consensus says i run 35's on my stock 18's and they rub so im thinkin 17's will too. I dont see how rim size affects tire size (some inlightment on this would be nice)?

Wheel diameter doesn't. But width and backspacing does.

I just want 17's so that the cost of the tires is lower. 18's prices are rediculous! Hell, 20's are cheaper than 18's!
