Leveling/lifting question.

Hi guys,

I have an 08 FX4. I just got some Duratrac 295/65/18 and they look a bit suffed in the wheel well and they rub a bit. So i was looking at a leveling kit for the front. I was thinking probably 2". But the thing is im also pulling a travel trailer that sit at around 5000lbs empty. I dont want the rear to sag too much when pulling. So i was looking at raisin the rear a bit. From my research it look like either AAL or shackle would work for me. Then should i go 2.5" front to 1.5" rear? Anything else you guys would recommend? What brands should i be looking at? Anybody running a similar setup?

Thanks for the help,

Fred

Look at the autospring leveling kits prob go with a 2.5" it seems to be the most popular on the site among the members trucks.

then cause your towing a lot, I would look at adding a leaf spring. I installed the autospring one on my truck and it put the back up about 1.5-2" there great when you load your bed or towing and you wont notice a ride change really at all.

Personally I would not do the 2.5" in the front. I just put a 2" spacer in my 04 with new springs and shocks and its a half inch lower than the rear, but you cant even tell. From my research I belive most of the folks around here recommend the 2" on the newer 150's anyway. Also if towing alot I would add a leaf much better in the long run.

Are you completely level w/ the 2.5 front and the AAL in the rear?

No i still have a slight rake with the 2.5 front and aal in the rear which is what I need cause I am towing and loading the bed all the time, Im only suggesting the 2.5 cause it sounds like you dont like the stuffed look so it would give you some extra clearance on your new tires.

Thanks for the input. Sounds like that exactly what im looking for. So the rear isnt sagging too much when you're towing? Is 2.5" still safe for the CV and other components? Cheers!
