Shocks after leveling kit

Shocks after leveling kit

Hi i have a f150 fx4 2007 and i put a leveling kit 2.5" in front and 1 back, the leveling it was perfect. But the thing is, i want to change the shocks and i dont know what brand to buy, what kind and the most importand thing is the size because i'm confuse if is change after put the leveling kit.

Some body tell what is the better way.

I'd suggest the Bilstiens. They feature adjustable prload so you can remove your leveling kit.

thanks for your opinion, but what do you say, if i put that shocks i don't need the leveling kit

Thats correct, the bilstien 5100 series features the ability to adjust the preload, accomplishing the same thing as a leveling kit.

I have the same setup as you. 2.5" in the front and more like 1.5" in the rear. Sits perfect. After MUCH research I ended up throwing on some 5100 series bilsteins, and set the front shocks to 0 lift.

Don't expect to be able to tell a huge difference. Subtle differences at best, but the stock shocks are legendary for being crap....so might as well be proactive.

thaks callaway29, but when u put the 5100 series did u put away the leveling kit or what, because the problem is i really like my truck like that, i dont want to lift more.

If you leave on leveling kit and set the 5100 to give you no lift you are good but that defeats the purpose of the 5100, you can get your lift out of them and get rid of the leveling kit. If you decide to keep your leveling kit you could go with other shocks that dont provide leveling options and save a little money.

BTW, are you in Charleston SC or WV?
