Yeah bigger blocks would be a stand alone change. You could do a combanation of add a leaf and block b/c you wont get 2 inches out of an add a leaf. You will need new U-Bolts and maybe the center bolt through the leafsprings that centers your axle. I know you don't want to do the torsion bars but I think you should let them down a little just to see how well you like it. Then there isn't any tear down or parts to buy. If you like it then align it.

Also 5/8s of the threads on the bolt are above the bracket that it turns through... I guess instead of winging all this I should take it to someone who can look at it in person.

hey, off topic, but would you mind posting a pic of the front of your truck, I am thinking about fabricating a baja bumper like yours. I am just curious on how it looks and matches up with the curves of the truck

I'll take a pic of the bolt and of the front bumper and post them both in a sec.

The first three are the bumper - hope the were what you were looking for, I tried to get the curves. The last one is the torsion bolt.

Thanks again.

thanks for the quick pictures. about your lift, it looks to me like your running a six inch fabtech kit based on the pictures you have provided. I'm running the same one, except my kit came with a 4 inch block, (no AAL) and I don't have my torsion bars cranked as high as you do. I kept mine at stock adjustment to maintain as much of my factory ride as i could.
I have seen many people with our lifts run a 5 inch block, which would probaly level you out perfect with your current torsion bar setup. If you do this you definatly need larger u bolts and possibly longer shocks, depending on how far your current ones will travel. This shouldn't effect ride quality. An AAL will slightly affect ride quality.
The route I would like to go, although pricey, would be to take out my blocks and run a 6 inch leaf pack made by either BDS of skyjacker. I have been tring to find used ones.
Just remember, if you change your torsion bar settings then you will need an alignment, or you will unevenly wear your tires out.

Ok, back it out 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. Almost even with the bottom of the cross member and see where that gets you. Turn each side precisely the exact amount of times. Test drive it a little then step out and see the difference. (test drive allows it to settle)

I'm giving this advice for ride quality and tire clearance, not overall height. A level truck always looks much meaner no matter the height, IMO.

What would be an efficient way to figure out how much my shocks would travel? I would love to go with the bigger blocks and u-bolts. If my wife shuts me down I'll work on the torsion bars... The ride right now is really great for the equipment thats on the truck.
