Shocks fo FX4

I believe the factory shocks for a FX4 package is Rancho--correct???? What shocks are they and are there any better? I know the ones one my 03 have been replaced as my rear shocks are Yellow, and ranchos are red & white.---DirtySCREW

Yes they are ranchos and they are the RS5000, your rear ones could possibly be Bilsteins if there is a blue boot. The best mix of performance and price IMO is the Ranchos, other guys will say Bilstein or Pro Comp but I have used Ranchos on several different vehicles and really like them.

The OEM Rancho shocks that Ford installed on the FX4's were not RS5000's. They were valved specifically to Ford's specs. Any of the aftermarket Rancho's will be a better shock.

I just bought some rs5000 for the rear. And when you compress them they don't extend
At All! How are they a good shock?

^^when it's installed the spring will pull it back out. What you're seeing is rebound damping.
