you could always go for a bodylift. Fairly cheap, aslong as you install it yourself. Some places charge well over $500 to install. If done right, they really good on these trucks.
So for about $350 to $400 dollars can get you a bodylift. Or if your really settled for a suspension lift, go for a Procomp Stage 1 lift. I've seen them priced around $1200 dollars before. Maybe cheaper now I dunno. I'm currently on the fence about getting either a BL or a 6in suspension lift.

A good body lift is the way to go if money is tight.
The problem with the "cheap" suspension lifts is that they are well, cheap. Which means they will cost at least as much as a good lift down the road.
#1. Brake lines. The cheap kits don't include them. Search here, people with the '04-'08 trucks have had problems when they just streached the OEM lines.
#2. Drive lines. If you don't follow the instructions in the kit to realign and rebalance the front drive shaft you will regret it down the road. Better get a kit that includes a driveline, or have one made.
#3. Front struts. If you buy a kit that includes a spacer for the front strut and rear shocks, plan on replacing the front struts at the same time, otherwise you will have a mis-matched ride.
