2wd vs. 4wd

does anybody know just what exactly it is that makes the f150 4wd trucks 2" taller than the 2wd trucks?

I believe it's just longer coilover shocks and a lift block.

so you think its just longer front end shocks for the front

i know the rear is the 2" lift block im not sure about the front

I believe wandell has it right. I've seen a atleast 1 2wd that has coilovers cranked and a 2 1/2"(I think) spacer and the ball joint angles didn't look anywhere near near stressed.
